On behalf of the Association de Défensedes Ressources Marines, on the minimum size of sea bass and the minimum mesh size for static gear targeting sea bass in the Bay of Biscay

The petitioner, writing on behalf of the Association de Défense des Ressources Marines (‘Association for the Defence of Marine Resources’), is calling on the Commission to rapidly propose a new minimum conservation size for sea bass and a new minimum mesh size for static gear targeting sea bass, pending further strong measures such as the protection of spawning grounds, in order to help prevent the Bay of Biscay from completely losing its sea bass and sea bass fishermen. The Association for the Defence of Marine Resources is calling on Parliament to be aware of the gap between declarations of intent and practices in the specific case addressed by this petition and to use its power to address it.
