Petition addressed to: Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments

The petitioner is an indirect victim of road accident (she lost members of her family in a road accident). She complains about weaknesses of the Bulgarian system of prevention, control and penal responsibility for perpetrators of the road crimes. She suggests introduction of varied measures in order to improve this situation such as more operational road speed cameras, specific penalties for the systemic offenders, mandatory cameras inside the cars, trainings on safety during 5 first years of driving and regular health checks of drivers over 50 years old. The petitioner is in favour of the creation of an official online platform for whistle-blowers where citizen would be able to submit proofs of violations, and would be protected against the offender.
