The petitioner complains that Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011 on textile fibre names and related labelling and marking of the fibre composition of textile products does not provide sufficient information or protection for consumers when it comes to the fur products on sale in the EU. The petitioner maintains that she, together with the other signatories, represents EU animal protection organisations, and takes the view that although the sale of fur products remains legal, consumers ought to be able to take informed decisions when it comes to purchasing products containing animal fur.
