On breaches of EU environmental law and calling for a stop of all works and waste disposal at the landfill of Mavro Vouno of Grammatiko

The petitioner had already made a submission in relation to petition 0573/2011, which was discussed in committee on 21.03.2018, and deplores in this regard the lack of compliance of the Region of Attika with the committee request to conduct a new environmental impact assessment.He alleges in particular a breach of Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora by the Greek authorities, namely the failure to protect a designated Natura 2000 marine site in the immediate vicinity of the estuary of an existing stream crossing the landfill.
