The petitioner indicates that, having entered his name on an online search engine, he discovered that his home address, private telephone number and map location were also displayed, despite the fact that he had not disclosed that information for publication. Furthermore, his complaints to the search engine operator have remained unanswered, a rebuttal being necessary before the matter can be pursued by the data protection officer. The petitioner asks whether responsibility for implementation of the Data Protection Regulation should lie with the Member States and what action the EU institutions are taking to protect the personal data of EU citizens.
