On the labelling of substances hazardous to allergy sufferers

The petitioner deplores that, because of unclear labelling, it takes allergy sufferers a lot of time and effort to establish what allergens present risks in cosmetics and other products and how to avoid them. In such public contexts as in the workplace and at shopping centres or hotels, efforts to do so are completely fruitless. Even if sufferers take the greatest care, they may be exposed to serious health risks. They are left to their own resources, as no scientifically reliable findings are available to indicate whether and how aromas, perfumes or flavour enhancers cause allergies.
