On the violation of animal protection laws when transporting livestock to be slaughtered in third countries

The petitioner believes that the Regulation on the protection of animals during transport and related operations is being violated constantly. Excessive wait times at border crossings and the unloading of maritime transport do not meet animal protection standards. The petitioner claims that animals are tortured to death in the slaughterhouses of third countries. The only suitable measure to end this situation is to forbid the transportation of livestock to be slaughtered. The petitioner asks the European Parliament to take action in this regard.
