On the unequal distribution of asylum applications between Member States

Starting from the observation that the Dublin III Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 604/2013) is the cause of the unequal distribution of asylum seekers between Member States – which is borne out by the frequent arrival of migratory waves on the Italian, Greek and Spanish coasts – the petitioner calls for a suspension of the Dublin regime for Italy (as occurred for Greece) and the repeal of Regulation (EU) No 604/2013 and its replacement with fairer and more equitable arrangements which offer effective support and protection to asylum seekers (who often wish to be reunited with migrants living in northern European countries).
