Petition is addressed to: Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments

The petitioner complains that a project launched as part of a call for proposals for sustainable urban development strategy co-financed under the ERDF operational programme for sustainable growth 2014-2020 provides for the large-scale felling of sizeable trees which are older than 70 years (13 lime and 41 chestnut trees) and the relocation and subsequent replanting of 29 orange and 45 camellia trees, which have formed part of the Gran Vía and its surroundings for more than 40 years. He contends that the authorities’ actions are in breach of the criteria and objectives set out for the call for proposals and calls for the project to be suspended and for the Commission to launch an investigation.
