It includes access to education, employment, political participation, and resources. As a result, gender equality shapes people’s everyday lives by affecting their opportunities and how the economy and society function.

Increasing the focus on gender equality policies can:
·     Ensure equal opportunities in education, employment, and leadership [1].
·     Reduce discrimination and gender-based violence [2].
·     Improve economic performance by fully using the potential of all individuals [3].
·     Strengthen families and societies through more balanced caregiving and work roles [4].
·     Foster fairer and more inclusive institutions [5].
