See on veebipõhine petitsioon Euroopa Parlamendi .

The petitioner draws attention to the differences between EASA class 1 medical regulations and other international regulations regarding colour vision requirements. He argues that the regulations in question regarding ability to pilot a plane safely are discriminatory. In other countries such as New Zealand and the US, pilots must pass a medical test and be able to perceive those colours necessary to fly a plane safely. If they meet those requirements, they are entitled to an unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate. The petitioner indicates that tests of this kind, which are also run by the Australian authority (CASA) are more practical in nature than those required under EASA rules and argues that they should be implemented in the EU since this would not compromise passenger safety. He objects to current EASA regulations on the grounds that they discriminate against EU citizens seeking to become pilots in the EU, as opposed to those third-country applicants. The petitioner believes that common worldwide colour vision standards would mean greater uniformity and less discrimination.
