Petition addressed to: Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments

The petitioner points out that fruits and vegetables are increasingly being sold in plastic packaging. In her opinion, plastic packaging is a threat to the environment and has serious consequences on people’s health. She believes that Directive 94/62EC, as amended, and Directive 2019/904 do not sufficiently address this problem. Finally, the petitioner calls on the European Parliament to request the Commission to revise Directive 94/62/EC in order to reduce the production and use of plastic packaging for fruits and vegetables in the EU point out that fruits and vegetables are increasingly being sold pre-packaged in plastic.
