Petitsioon on adresseeritud: Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments

The petitioner claims that since 2016, when the forest surveillance system via satellite was stopped due to political pressure, illegal logging has massively increased. The petitioner is concerned about the impact of this aggressive deforestation on the environment, human health and the economy, and seeks the adoption and implementation of urgent measures aimed at protecting Romanian forests. He also calls for the adoption of European legislation compelling producers and sellers of wood products to label the source of the wood and to register in a European-wide database.
