On alleged breach of consumer rights for cancelled holidays, flights and events during the COVID-19 crisis

The petitioner is against the decision to provide vouchers to consumers for cancelled holidays, flights and events due to the corona crisis. Although the corona crisis is challenging for businesses, it would be wrong to suspend or abolish consumer rights that have been established for years. The petitioner is in favour of a proposal presented by German consumer protection organisations: a fond for the travel industry, backed by public credits, which shall ensure liquidity for travel companies and airlines at risk. She asks Parliament for support to establish such a fond, to protect consumer rights. Finally she asks to help culture businesses who urgently need financial support.
