On the assimilation of the EU staff regulations to the provisions of Regulation 883/2004

The petitioner seeks to ensure that the EU staff regulations be assimilated to Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 on the coordination of social security systems or to the national legislation referred to therein. This should apply at least to all EU staff and their family members and survivors. Such assimilation may be particularly useful if the persons concerned are in a place outside the territorial scope of the Regulation where there are no social security institutions of the Member States. The EU services should also ensure data protection.
