On ineffective access to justice in the EU

The petitioner deplores that there is no guarantee to remedy or hold Member States accountable in cases of infringement of EU law, at the detriment to the party who has suffered from such infringements. In his view, this results in EU law being ultimately ineffective in providing genuine justice for all, and in particular for those lacking the financial resources to file a complaint to the national courts. In this regard, the petitioner also deplores that there is no cohesion or alignment among Member States on the subject of legal aid.
