On immediate measures to be taken to protect living conditions and social security rights of land workers in Foggia (Italy) 

The petitioner denounces the serious situation affecting many migrants who work in the area of Foggia, Puglia, in Italy. He criticises the state of neglect of these seasonal migrant workers, who are exploited by the landowners and the authorities, and forced to work in inhuman conditions, without any labour contracts, insurance or social security, and in deplorable sanitary and health conditions. He claims that the Italian government and the EU are as responsible as the landowners for this situation, and calls for immediate measures to be taken for an improvement in the conditions of these migrant workers, in particular with regard to accommodation, access to water, health, labour contracts and social security.
