On a pyramid fraud scheme by the company ‘Arte y Naturaleza S.L.’ similar to that carried out by Fórum Filatélico and Afinsa in Spain

The petitioner complains about a pyramid fraud scheme by the company ‘Arte y Naturaleza Gespart S.L.’ to which she fell victim together with 19 360 other people. The petitioner notes that the modus operandi of the company was similar to that of FORUM and AFINSA which were found guilty by the Spanish judicial authorities. The petitioner requests that the issue raised be debated and possibly considered jointly with other similar cases submitted in relation to pyramid schemes. First, to seek solutions to improve the protection of consumers from misleading and criminal activities. Second, to lay down criteria and deadlines for the effective liquidation of the estate in insolvency proceedings. This would prevent the passage of time and the payment of fees accrued by insolvency administrators from reducing or exhausting the possibilities of recovery of investments made by bona fide consumers who trusted that the information provided by the company before it went into liquidation, was transparent and true.Finally, to ensure effective protection by the Institutions so as to prevent pyramid fraud of such a magnitude being committed in the future.
