On cancelled travel bookings due to COVID-19 and handling the cancellation compensations

The petitioner reports of his personal case of a compensation request for the cancellation of his Austrian Airlines flight. The flight was cancelled by the airline before any travel warning or ban. No compensation was paid within the deadline and the compensation request was not treated by the airline. The petitioner is of the opinion that the handling of the request is a breach of EU law on consumer protection.
