Andrageren beretter om sin personlige sag vedrørende en anmodning om godtgørelse for aflysningen af hans flyvning med Austrian Airlines. Flyvningen blev aflyst af luftfartsselskabet, før der var blevet advaret mod at rejse, og før der var indført noget rejseforbud. Der blev ikke betalt nogen godtgørelse inden for tidsfristen, og anmodningen om godtgørelse blev ikke behandlet af luftfartsselskabet. Andrageren er af den opfattelse, at denne manglende behandling af hans anmodning er en overtrædelse af EU-lovgivningen om forbrugerbeskyttelse.
