Petition richtet sich an: Petitionsausschuss des Europäischen Parlaments

The petition concerns the July 2018 fire events in Greece, within wooded settlements, which claimed at least 87 lives.The petitioner believes that the competent bodies of the European Union should take measures to combat fires in the Member States with concrete measures, which will be binding on Member States, in order to protect human lives, the environment, and property.He suggests that one of these measures should be the purchase of a large number of aircraft, for example of the Canadair type, which will be operated by permanent and qualified personnel, and stationed in the countries with the highest risk of fires, especially during the summer months, thus creating a single European fire-fighting air force.
