'The Metro Club' (Metroklubben) works towards the realisation of the project 'The Öresund Metro' (Öresundsmetron) using the people's voice as a tool targeting decision making politicians.
What is the Öresund Metro? The Metro is an underground subway between Malmo and Copenhagen that will enable efficient commuting and environmental friendlier transports. Due to estimated growth in population in the region and an increased need of both private transports and freight transports, the bridge will eventually become overburdened. The new Metro will carry commuters across the ocean every 90th second, on almost half the travelling time compared to current trains.
The region's industry and commerce, turism and traffic will additionally increase in connection to The Fehrman Belt - the new danish-german train system that will connect Hamburg, Copenhagen and Malmo. Without the Öresund Metro effective commuting and the high potential of activity and culture exchange in the region will degrade.

The Öresund Metro plays a fateful role for our future public transport and its tethered ambitious vision. In 2000 the Öresund Bridge was launched and now we take the next leap for the regions development while strengthening our urban character and set the foundation for Malmo as a half million city.
Besides the realisation of effective commuting and growth, the Öresund Metro can have a positive effect on the environment. The Metro will relieve pressure on the bridge, so that truck transports can be replaced with sustainable and environmental friendly freight trains, which contributes to reach high climate targets in Sweden, Denmark and Europe.
Together we connect the Öresund region on a higher level, encourage cultural exchange, enable Sweden's climate goals while moving one step closer to becoming the best place in Scandinavia to work and live in - All with positive effect on the environment.
