On the content of the Regulation 261/2004/EC on flight compensation

The petitioner indicates that his return flight booked with the airline company Iberia from Santiago ( Chili) to Bordeaux ( France) was cancelled. He explains that he was offered another flight by Iberia. However, as this flight was operated by a non-European carrier, Latam, the petitioner was not able to obtain compensation. According to the petitioner, there is a lack of protection of passengers’ rights in the case of collaboration between European and non-European airline companies, as the Flight Compensation Regulation does not apply to the latter.
