On the alleged improper use of ERDFfunding for research in Spain

The petitioner complains that Spain is using money from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), to finance support in the most developed regions while it is supposed to be used to support less developed regions inresearch. This, in the petitioner’s opinion, then has the opposite effect of accentuating the differences between the different regions in Spain. As a result, ERDF funds are failing to give the most disadvantaged regions any comparative advantage whatsoever.
