The petitioner calls for the promotion and subsidisation of teleworking in IT- and administrative functions. The petitioner is in the view that teleworking would reduce the use of cars, buses and trains and consequently reduce the environmental pollution. Cities such as Madrid, with many administrative jobs and where, in her opinion, the presence in the office is unnecessary, would benefit from this measure. According to the petitioner, teleworking brings many advantages such as less need for the government to invest in trains, improvement of the employee’s satisfaction due to a better family life, less spending for transportation costs, reduction of depopulated areas and regularization of rental prices in the cities. Companies should be given subsidy if they reach a minimum threshold of teleworking or should be penalised for not reaching that threshold.
