The petitioner recounts the unwillingness of an airline to compensate him after a flight cancellation incident caused by strike actions of its employees. He complains about the lack of compliance of said airline with the Regulation 261/2004 and calls upon the European Union to investigate its practice in this regard. The petitioner also suggests setting up an independent body that would be in charge of monitoring the compliance by airlines with Regulation 261/2004 and notes that in his case the airline’s non-compliance with Regulation 216/2004 grants it an unlawful competitive advantage over other airlines.
