On behalf of the Committee of Employees of the Former Nuova Siet, Taranto site, concerning cut in payments of social insurance contributions, to the detriment of employees of a company belonging to the allied company ILVA, Taranto 

The petitioner describes the long-standing criminal and civil litigation concerning the infringement of both social security rights and fundamental rights, such as the right to health, of workers and their families, at the former ‘Nuova Siet’, a transport company which was incorporated into the ILVA production system. The workers concerned have remained continuously under contract, despite the various transfers or changes of management. In particular, the petitioner complains about the failure of the National Institute responsible for Social Security (INPS) to recognise the contributory social insurance cover which ILVA has never paid for in the case of some 200 employees, and asks the INPS to make good the deficiency in their pension entitlements.
