On behalf of IPPOTHESIS, Panhellenic Equine Welfare Society, on lack of equidae traceability because of EU law breach by Greek authorities

The petitioner denounces breach of EU law by Greece for failure to comply with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/262 of 17 February 2015 laying down rules pursuant to Council Directives 90/427/EEC and 2009/156/EC as regards the methods for the identification of equidae (Equine Passport Regulation).She also alleges that Greece previously failed to comply with the former Commission Regulation (EC) No 504/2008 as regards methods for the identification of equidae, which was applicable since 1 July 2009, and was repealed with effect from 1 January 2016 upon the entry into force of the new regulation.On 17 April 2019 the petitioner also filed a complaint to the European Commission (CHAP (2019)01176) for infringement of the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/262 by the Greek Ministry of Agriculture and any other authority involved.
