The petitioner states that the Directorate-General for the Environment of the Government of Extremadura has decided to refuse to allow the hunting of goats and mouflon sheep on her client’s estate in the municipality of Talarrubias (Badajoz) and has ordered that the animals be gradually eliminated. The petitioner also indicates that the courts in Spain had partially upheld her appeal, although they insisted that the goats and mouflon sheep must be culled by the 2019/2020 farming season. The petitioner alleges that the Spanish authorities fail to comply with EU law, namely Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora.
