On the Funding of the “Horizon Europe” Programme

The petition was submitted by the European Academy of Sciences together with the Iberian Academies and was signed by six leading specialists in the areas of research, innovation and education. The petitioners consider that the “Horizon Europe“ programme is of great importance for the future of science and research in the European Union. Since the European Commission and the European Parliament play a key role in taking decisions on the research funding of this programme, the petitioners request a meeting with President Tajani. They want to express their strong support for the proposal for the 9th European Research and Innovation Framework Program, “Horizon Europe” (2021-2027), aiming at strengthening the Union and enhancing its impact on economic growth, wellness, job creation and progress and the corresponding proposal for the allocation of at least 100 billion euros.
