The petitioner calls on the Parliament to urge the Commission and the Member States to support unaccompanied minors coming to the EU as refugees. He suggests that those support measures should include the establishment of special centres for minors separate from refugee centres for adults, where children would be placed for maximum two weeks and then moved to foster homes, - medical and psychological assistance as well as education, - the transfer of unaccompanied minors from borders to Member States where they can receive residence permit. He further suggests organising a hearing with concerned Member States, UNHCR and NGOs as well as establishing a specific financing programme to improve the conditions of unaccompanied minors.
