On monocultures of forest species in Natura 2000 areas

The petitioner believes growing certain forest species as monocultures to be incompatible with the conservation of natural habitats protected by the Natura 2000 network. She considers that such tree plantations would result in a severe loss of biodiversity. She calls for forest crops to be excluded from protected nature reserves such as Natura 2000 areas in order to safeguard biodiversity and soil and water quality.
