The petitioner questions the compatibility of Article 216 of Greek Law 4512/2018 ( amending Law 3651/2008) on "Road Assistance for Vehicles", insofar as it concerns insurance companies, with EU law, in particular on the operation of insurance undertakings and free competition.The ban on insurance companies from providing "Road Assistance" introduced by the new law leaves the provision of such services only to companies that are not insurance companies and therefore do not fall under strict supervision. The petitioner claims that such provisions constitute an unfair discrimination against insurance companies, which entail a violation of free competition.
