On recent amendments to Italy’s Highway Code concerning the use of vehicles registered abroad

The petitioner complains about recent amendments to Italy’s Highway Code concerning the use of vehicles registered abroad. In the petitioner’s view, these amendments, which entered into force in December 2018, are discriminatory and contrary to the free movement of goods and persons. The petitioner takes the view that the new Italian rules concerning foreign vehicle registration plates are incompatible with the European internal market.
