On the former employees of the Sicilian vocational training programmes who have been left without employment

The petitioner complains about the situation of the former employees of the Region of Sicily working in the vocational training sector who have been left without employment. The petitioner complains of poor administrative and financial management of Sicilian vocational training programmes, which has led to the dismissal of the abovementioned workers. They were dismissed and were unable to recover their accrued wages and salaries which, by law, the Region of Sicily, a beneficiary of Community funds from the European Social Fund, was obliged to pay. The petitioner asks the European Parliament to take steps to find a satisfactory solution for the employees of the Sicilian vocational training institutions.
