The petitioner considers that maize cultivated for biogas production should be replaced by giant wheat grass. It offers more advantages, such as more frequent harvests, less soil erosion and the uptake of nitrite from the soil. He therefore calls for the discontinuation of subsidies for maize cultivation so that farmers switch to this alternative crop.
