On behalf of the Associazione Giovani Diabete di Bologna (AGD - Bologna Association of Young Diabetes Sufferers), on the need for uniform guidance and protocols for the treatment of type-1 diabetes

The petitioner calls for the introduction and observance of uniform protocols in connection with the diagnosis and treatment of type-1 diabetes at EU, national and regional level. Some of the measures suggested by the petitioner are: hypoglycaemic parameters as part of an individual’s personal health record, map of paediatric emergency assistance points, blood sugar levels as part of the health protocol, early detection guidelines, information and education campaigns, specialisation of medical and paramedical personnel.
