On behalf of Stichting Pierre Robin Europe, on the need of an infringement procedure against France for violation of EU cross-border healthcare law 

The petitioner calls the EP to recommend the Commission to launch an infringement procedure against France for raising unjustified obstacles to prevent patients with rare diseases from getting cross-border healthcare, claiming that Directive 2011/24/EU on the application of patients’ rights in cross-border healthcare is not being implemented and used correctly. In general, he claims that patients with rare diseases should be prioritized in access to EU healthcare since they need highly specialized treatments and doctors that cannot be found on a local level.
