The petitioner considers that the compensation of EUR 250 established by Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 in the event of denial of boarding for flights of 1 500 kilometres or less should be revised upwards due to it being insufficient. The petitioner indicates that the low amount encourages airline companies to opt for the practice of overbooking in an abusive way.
