Magic Dust ist in der weltweiten BBQ-Szene ein feststehender Begriff für eine Gewürzmischung. In der gängigen BBQ Literatur findet man Magic Dust bereits ab 2005, frühere Erwähnungen sind wahrscheinlich Recipe: Peace, Love & Barbecue: Recipes, Secrets, Tall Tales and Outright Lies from the Legends of Barbecue by Mike Mills and Amy Mills Tunnicliffe (Rodale Books, May 2005)
