On the taxes on the import of eBikes from China

The petitioner operates a small company and imports eBikes from China to sell them in France. He denounces the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1795 of 20 November 2018 laying down procedure and criteria for the application of the economic equilibrium test pursuant to Article 11 of Directive 2012/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2018/671, which imposes taxes on the import of eBikes from China. According to the petitioner, these taxes represent a disproportionate financial burden for small companies. The petitioner is also of the view that the import taxes on eBikes constitute an obstacle to the use and the marketing of alternative non-polluting vehicles and therefore adversely affect the environment.
