On the need for a truly democratic process of withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union

The petitioner calls for any extension of the Brexit process to be granted only if a public confirmatory vote is held in the UK. He recommends that British citizens from the age of 16 upwards be able to take part in that vote – as their future will clearly be affected by this process – along with EU citizens resident in the UK and all registered British voters at home and abroad. The petitioner calls on the European Union to remain vigilant on this process and ensure it is transparent and conducted in full compliance with the Constitution.
