On the insufficient social security payments granted to persons with disabilities in Latvia

The petitioner claims that persons with Group II disabilities do not receive a sufficient social security income in Latvia. She refers to an amount of 160 EUR per month. The petitioner claims that this does not allow her to buy food, nor to provide for heating in her home. She refers to possibly higher levels of social welfare in other Member States and wonders how disabled persons in Latvia can survive with such a low income. She further states that her financial situation does not allow for challenging any of the decisions before the Court.
