On behalf of the ‘Wind Working Party’ citizens’ initiative concerning development of wind power in Schleswig-Holstein and Dithmarschen in particular

The petitioner objects to the development of wind power in Schleswig-Holstein and in particular in Dithmarschen. Derogations meant that more wind turbines have been erected, in spite of construction being suspended, and they are sited too close to settlements. This has had a range of negative effects on local residents, including health problems. In addition, inhabitants of Schleswig-Holstein have had the highest electricity prices in Germany. The petitioner is calling for the development of the wind farms in Dithmarschen to be halted immediately, for the minimum distance of 1 500 m to the edge of settlements to be complied with, for Germany’s Energy Efficiency Act to be abolished and for electricity prices to be reduced and capped.
