In the petitioner’s opinion, the overwhelming majority of the population wants the seasonal time change to be abolished, however, the contentious question is whether summer or winter time should remain. The petitioner therefore suggests a new standard time as a compromise, in which both sides meet in the middle by each adjusting the clock by half an hour.
