Among large numbers of Russians who have migrated to live in our countries, some people still support Putin, watch exclusively Russian war propaganda, support Russian war against Ukraine and support totalitarian values of 'Putinism'. Even after 20 years of living in a democratic European state, USA or Canada, they still have Russian passport, which – in the present context – has become a symbol of their support of Putin’s totalitarian values.
The freedoms of democratic countries that protect everybody to freely express their opinions and political support should always have a limit: no support for the war against our democratic values is acceptable.
People who support the Russian war against Ukraine support the war against our values, but should therefore also pay for the costs of this war: the cost of the reconstruction of Ukraine destroyed by Russian troops.
The Russians who have been living in democratic Europe, USA or Canada for years and still keep their Russian passports think that they benefit from having Russian passport and its protection. In this way, they are involved in the Russian war against Ukraine, and therefore should pay for the damage that Russia causes.
