Andragerne ønsker, at forbuddet mod fodring af svin og fjerkræ med dyremel opretholdes i hele EU. De hævder, at fodring af kvæg med dyremel i de seneste årtier har forvoldt mennesker og dyr betydelig skade. Selv i dag forekommer bovin spongiform encephalopati (BSE) stadig til trods for forbuddet mod fodring. Dyremel er ikke artstilpasset foder til dyr.
