The Goal: To improve AC efficiency standards in order to minimize our impact on climate change.
Reason
The Problem: As one of the largest and most economically developed nations in the world, the US should be leading the world on good environmental practices. However, when it comes to the HVAC industry, it seems we don’t. Air conditioning units sold in the US market are, on average, around 25% less efficient than air conditioning appliances sold in Japan and European markets.
The IEA said in a recent report that due to an expected dramatic increase in the use of AC appliances worldwide, improved efficiency standards are vital to avoiding a ‘cold crunch’ within the next few decades.
The Solution: Change and improve on existing regulations regarding air conditioning appliances and air filters. Impose improved minimum energy efficiency standards to force manufacturers to produce and sell more efficient air conditioning appliances visit https://mervfilters.com . This will significantly lower the average residential energy consumption for cooling over time.
This will bring both environmental and economic benefits. It will reduce the national energy consumption to help us meet targets set by the Paris Accord and minimize our impact on climate change. It will also save trillions of dollars for the American economy by reducing our need for fuel.
