On the removal of bureaucratic obstacles to the celebration of marriage between EU citizens

The petitioner notes that each Member State has its own procedure for concluding and registering marriages between citizens of different countries. The petitioner believes that these different procedures and requirements hinder the celebration of marriage. He therefore requests that the procedures be streamlined and simplified, and that the bureaucratic obstacles to the celebration of marriage in EU Member States be removed.
