On new European rules on safety for passengers using international coach transport services

The petitioner deplores the unsafe design of many structural components of coaches, such as the windows and the glass in emergency exits, which, if they break in response to a shock, can cause passengers to be thrown from the vehicle. He also criticises the seatbelts, which are often left unused or do not help if the vehicle overturns. He therefore calls for EU legislation to tighten up the rules on the safety of coaches.
